Eagle Scout Requirements:
- Be active in your troop for at least six months as a Life Scout.
Being active means being registered, in good standing, and regularly attending meetings and campouts
This requirement is normally signed off by your Scoutmaster at your Scoutmaster Conference
- As a Life Scout, demonstrate Scout Spirit by living the Scout Oath and Scout
Law. Tell how you have done your duty to God, how you have lived the Scout
Oath and Scout Law in your everyday life, and how your understanding
of the Scout Oath and Scout Law will guide your life in the future. List on
your Eagle Scout Rank Application the names of four individuals who know
you personally and would be willing to provide a recommendation on
your behalf.
This requirements is normally signed off by the Scoutmaster at your Scoutmaster Conference
Despite the requirement saying "list", Scouting America now requires the Eagle Candidate to request the recommendation letters from their references. The references should be contacted to request the letter be sent to the troop Eagle Coordinator.

- First Aid
- Citizenship in the Community
- Citizenship in the Nation
- Citizenship in Society
- Citizenship in the World
- Communication
- Cooking
- Personal Fitness
- Emergency Preparedness OR Lifesaving
- Environmental Science OR Sustainability
- Personal Management
- Swimming OR Hiking OR Cycling
- Camping
- Family Life
- Seven additional merit bages. If you earned more than one badge from one of the alternates above, they are counted here.
Talk to the scoutmaster or your patrol mentor to start a merit badge
- While a Life Scout, serve actively in your troop for six months in one or
more of the following positions of responsibility: Patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, troop guide, Order of the Arrow troop representative, den chief, scribe, librarian, historian, quartermaster, junior assistant Scoutmaster, chaplain aide, instructor, webmaster, or outdoor ethics guide.

Some positions are struck through because the troop has not been successful with scouts serving those roles
- While a Life Scout, plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, any school, or your community.
(The project must benefit an organization other than Scouting America.)

- While a Life Scout, participate in a Scoutmaster conference.
The Eagle Scoutmaster Conference is not normally held until above requirements are complete or very nearly complete.
All the above requirements must be completed by the day before your 18th birthday
- Successfully complete your board of review for the Eagle Scout rank.
To prepare for your board of review, you will have to write a "statement of life purpose" where you discuss how the values of scouting will guide your life in the future, and a listing of honors and awards you have received that you want the board to know about
The Troop Life to Eagle Coordinator will schedule your Board of Review. All requirements must be complete and the application signed by the Scoutmaster and Committee Chair before scheduling the Board of Review
